Lexus dealers in Vietnam are eagerly announcing the start of pre-orders for the new generation LM 500h. The car is expected to be launched this month with two versions: a 6-seater and a 4-seater, with expected prices of VND 7.21 billion and VND 8.61 billion respectively, equivalent to the prices of the old version. This information comes from the dealers, as Lexus Vietnam has not confirmed it.

Lexus LM 500h was announced to be launched in the Vietnamese market in March.

The second generation of the Lexus LM was globally premiered in April 2023 at the Shanghai Auto Show (China). In the Southeast Asian region, this model has also been introduced and displayed in many countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, and Brunei. Therefore, it is not difficult to understand when the Lexus LM 2024 will soon be available in Vietnam.

In the second generation, this Japanese luxury MPV received a series of upgrades, such as a 50% increase in structural rigidity compared to the previous generation thanks to reinforced chassis. The chassis of the new Lexus LM is the same type as the Toyota Alphard. The adaptive suspension system has been upgraded to reduce vibrations when crossing rough terrains.

The interior of this MPV model is also equipped with a range of new technologies to enhance convenience, the most notable of which is the new seats. The front seats are designed to better fit the human body, while the rear seats have 2 materials that absorb shock, helping to reduce vibrations both when the car is stationary and in operation.

The Lexus LM 2024 has options for 4, 6, and 7-seat configurations. Among them, the most luxurious 4-seat version features a partition wall between the front and rear seats, a 48-inch entertainment screen for the rear seats, a refrigerator, a private storage compartment, a table, and heated headrests.

A special “climate control” system has the ability to measure the body temperature of users in different parts (head, chest, hips, legs) and then adjust the air conditioning temperature to ensure even cooling/heating.

The Lexus Safety System+ package includes advanced safety and driving assistance technologies such as forward collision warning, automatic pre-collision braking, intelligent radar-based adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and driver attention warning.

The car is available in 2 engine options, including the 350h and 500h. The 500h version is the most powerful one distributed in Vietnam, using a combination of a turbocharged 2.4L engine (268 horsepower and 460 Nm of torque) and 2 electric motors (a front motor with 82 horsepower and 292 Nm of torque; a rear motor with 79 horsepower and 169 Nm of torque). The total power output is 349 horsepower. The engine is paired with an 8-speed Direct Shift transmission.

In the Vietnamese market, the Lexus LM has no direct competitors. In the large MPV segment, below the level of Japanese luxury models, there are the Mercedes-Benz V-Class (VND 3.099-3.759 billion) and the Toyota Alphard (VND 4.37-4.475 billion), while the rest are large-sized mainstream MPVs such as Volkswagen Viloran and Kia Carnival.
