On March 2, 2024, Can Tho Automobile Mechanical Joint Stock Company (CAMECO), a subsidiary of HAXACO Automotive Service Joint Stock Company (HAX), officially commenced operations. MG Can Tho is the largest Premium standard authorized dealer in the Mekong Delta region, marking the expansion of MG brand in the western region.
Premium 3S MG Can Tho authorized dealership of “Mercedes tycoon” Haxaco is built on a total area of over 5,000m2, with a display area of 1000m2. This is a 3S dealership that meets the Flagship Premium standard according to MG’s global standards.
MG (Morris Garages) was founded in 1924 in the United Kingdom. Since 2005, SAIC Group (China) has acquired MG and turned the brand into an exclusive brand alongside Maxus and Roewe. SAIC Motor Vietnam officially took over the distribution of MG in the Vietnamese market from July 2023.
Currently, MG products have been distributed in 39 countries and territories, with 6 global assembly plants delivering nearly 300,000 products to consumers each year. According to the company, nowadays, new generation models such as MG5, MG ZS, MG RX5, MG HS, MG CYBERSTER are all equipped with leading advanced technologies.
At the launching event of MG Can Tho dealership, the MG HS 2024 model was introduced to consumers by Haxaco with 2 versions: HS DEL priced at 699 million VND and HS LUX priced at 749 million VND. The MG HS model stopped distribution in Vietnam for 2 years and was reintroduced at the opening event of the 3S Premium MG Bac Giang dealership more than a month ago.
At that time, Mr. Tran Nam Thang, Deputy General Director of SAIC Motor Vietnam, confidently stated that he would achieve good business results in 2024 despite experts’ forecast that the Vietnamese automobile market can only grow by no more than 0.5% this year. According to Mr. Thang, in the 3 years that MG cars have been distributed by dealers in Vietnam, 15,000 cars have been sold.
In 2020, HAXACO Automotive Service Joint Stock Company (announced to distribute MG cars through its subsidiary, PTM Auto Manufacturing Trading and Service Joint Stock Company). Haxaco is known as the largest market share distributor of Mercedes cars in Vietnam.
Mr. Do Tien Dung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Haxaco emphasized about “walking with two legs” when sharing about the expansion into a new segment from a strong position in the luxury car segment.
