According to the Thanh Hoa Province’s 2021-2030 development plan, with a vision towards 2040 approved by the Prime Minister, there is a planned golf course in the Ham Rong – Nui Do area in Thanh Hoa City, covering an area of approximately 197 hectares (located within the administrative boundaries of Dong Linh, Dong Cuong, Thieu Van, Thanh Hoa City, Thieu Giao, Thieu Hoa district).

Based on the current land use status, the planned golf course area is mostly agricultural land (about 170 hectares). According to the Thanh Hoa City People’s Committee, the current regulations for golf course investment, construction, and operation prohibit the use of agricultural land. Therefore, the investment and construction of a golf course in this location is not suitable. As a result, the Thanh Hoa City People’s Committee has reviewed the land fund and proposed adjusting the golf course location to an area designated under the 1/2000 zoning plan, specifically areas 4 and 11, as part of the overall urban planning for Thanh Hoa City.

Specifically, the proposed golf course area is located within the administrative boundaries of An Hung, Dong Tan, Thanh Hoa City, and Dong Van, Dong Son district, with a total area of over 140 hectares. According to this plan, the golf course is bordered to the north by the road connecting the city center to Tho Xuan Airport and Nghi Son Economic Zone; to the south by the planned road; to the east by National Highway 45; and to the west by the western ring road and the planned road.

Based on the guidance of the Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Province, Mai Xuan Liem, the relevant departments and agencies will study and provide their opinions for the consideration of the Thanh Hoa Province People’s Committee.
