According to many florists, this year has seen a surge in the popularity of boxes of mica flowers with prices ranging from 1.2 – 1.5 million VND. In addition to mica boxes, mica flower arrangements of different sizes are also available, with prices ranging from 500,000 to 800,000 VND for customers looking for more affordable options.
The prices of mica flower boxes can be even higher if customers request the use of special flowers such as tulips imported from the Netherlands, China, and other countries.
Ms. Huyen, a flower shop owner on Nguyen Chi Thanh street, said: “During the International Women’s Day, the prices of red and pink roses increase the most, up to about 30% compared to regular days.”
This year has also witnessed a shift in consumer preferences, as people choose tulips and stone lotus flowers instead of traditional flowers. Stone lotus flowers are highly appreciated for their durability and novelty, while tulips bring a sense of elegance and class.
Despite the difficult economic situation, the demand for flowers remains high, as it has become a consumer habit. “Although the prices of flowers are higher than usual, many people are still willing to spend on International Women’s Day,” shared Ms. Huyen.
With high-end products such as mica flower boxes and special designs, the prices increase by about 20% compared to regular days. In particular, urgent orders can increase prices by up to 50%. The size of the flower box also affects the price, with small-sized products priced from 1 million VND, and large-sized products priced from 2 million VND or more.
In addition to unique flower boxes, people are also interested in cake flower sets for International Women’s Day – a perfect choice for those who want to combine flowers and cakes in a unique and meaningful gift. The cake flower sets are designed in two sizes: 14 cm and 18 cm, with prices below 1 million VND. In particular, the special version of this set with high-end flowers and cakes can cost nearly 3 million VND.
The flowers in this cake set are a combination of imported flowers and flowers from Da Lat, creating a diverse and rich variety in color and shape. The cakes in the set have a shelf life of 3 days, while the flowers can be preserved for 3-5 days.
Ms. My, the manager of a flower shop in Cau Giay district, shared: “Customers this year often choose this cake flower set because of its convenience. Customers don’t have to separately find flowers and cakes, they only need to buy this set.” According to her, although the economy is difficult, those who have the demand will still choose well-prepared and convenient gift sets, especially as the International Women’s Day approaches, the demand increases significantly.
In addition to flower boxes, flower bouquets also have increased prices, with individual small flowers retailing for tens of thousands of dong, and special flowers priced at up to 120,000 VND per flower.
Ms. Hao, a flower shop owner on Kim Ma street, said: “During holidays like this, we don’t accept orders for small bouquets because the prices of flowers are high. If customers order bouquets for 300,000 – 400,000 VND, there will only be 1 or 2 flowers in the bouquet, making it look very ‘small’.”
It can be said that despite the high costs, customers choosing unique flowers show their care and desire to send meaningful messages to the women in their lives.
