On March 8, the Secretary General of the National Assembly, Mr. Bui Van Cuong, informed about the decision to allow the initiation of legal proceedings, temporary detention, search of residence and workplace, and suspension of the performance of duties and powers of the 15th National Assembly delegate, Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan.
On March 7, 2024, based on the provisions of the law, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 1000/NQ-UBTVQH15 approving the proposal of the Chief Inspector of the Supreme People’s Procuracy regarding the initiation of legal proceedings, temporary detention, search of residence and workplace against Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan, a 15th National Assembly delegate, in accordance with the provisions of the law; at the same time, suspending the performance of duties and powers of the National Assembly delegate, Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan, a 15th National Assembly delegate, from the date of the decision to initiate legal proceedings against the defendant.”
As reported, on the afternoon of March 8, Major General To An Xo, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Security, announced that the investigation into the case at Phuc Son Corporation has been expanded. The Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Public Security has initiated legal proceedings against an additional 9 defendants, including Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Vinh Phuc.
The Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Public Security has initiated legal proceedings and arrested Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly delegation, Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council of Vinh Phuc, on charges of “Accepting bribes” as prescribed in Clause 4, Article 354 of the Penal Code./.
