The 4th generation of the Mitsubishi Outlander has been on the market for almost 3 years, meaning that the mid-lifecycle update of the vehicle is near. However, before that happens, Mitsubishi has just introduced a new range-topping variant called the GSR, which comes with the highest price and equipment level in the Outlander lineup.

Compared to the standard Outlander, the GSR version features new highlights including a protective frame, grille, mirror caps, window surrounds, roof rails, and dark-finished fog lamp bezels. Other new elements include 20-inch alloy wheels, Outlander lettering on the exhaust tip, and exclusive GSR badging on the tailgate.

In contrast to the exterior, the interior of the car is predominantly black. The red accents are limited to silver stitching on the dashboard, doors, and seats. This version seems to default to a 7-seater configuration.

The standard equipment of the Mitsubishi Outlander GSR is taken from the previous range-topping variant, so it is very comprehensive with highlights such as a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 9-inch center touchscreen, a premium Bose 10-speaker sound system, heated seats, a panoramic sunroof, and MI-Pilot driver assistance system.

The powertrain is the only area where the Mitsubishi Outlander GSR does not receive an upgrade compared to the standard Outlander or specifically the plug-in hybrid PHEV version. The parallel hybrid system produces a total output of 248 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. The 20 kWh lithium-ion battery provides a temporary electric range of up to 85 km.

The Mitsubishi Outlander GSR has a starting price of 73,790 AUD, equivalent to about 1.2 billion VND, which is higher than the price of the current range-topping variant available in the Vietnamese market (1.1 billion VND).
