In “The third auction session”, there are 188,399 license plates from 63 provinces and cities. The time of the “The third auction session” is listed from March 11th.
Among them, Hanoi has over 27 thousand license plates; Ho Chi Minh City has nearly 18 thousand license plates; the remaining provinces and cities have from a few hundred to several thousand license plates.
According to regulations, the starting price of a car license plate put up for auction is 40 million VND, the deposit is equal to the starting price of a car license plate put up for auction. The bid increment is 5 million VND.
Vietnamese individuals and organizations meeting the conditions can participate in the auction of car license plates according to the regulations of Decree No. 39/2023/NĐ-CP dated June 26th, 2023 detailing some articles of Resolution No. 73/2022/QH15 dated November 15th, 2022 of the National Assembly on the pilot auction of car license plates and other related legislation.

Within 15 days from the date of the auction result announcement, the winning bidder must fully pay the auction price after deducting the deposit amount into the collection account of the Ministry of Public Security. The auction price does not include the vehicle registration fee.
For each auctioned car license plate, the service fee paid to the asset auctioning organization is calculated at 8% of the starting price. In addition to the auction service fee, the fee paid to the asset auctioning organization is 10,000 VND per car license plate put up for auction.
Previously, the second auction session had a quantity of 288,668 license plates; the first auction session had over 153,000 license plates.
Throughout the 3 months of organizing car license plate auctions, there have been more than 15,000 successfully auctioned plates with a total amount of over 2,000 billion VND.
