According to CarNewsChina, Dongfeng eπ 007 has scheduled to debut in the Chinese market on March 14. The car will have a total of 4 versions with both pure electric (EV) and extended-range electric (EREV) priced from 22,200-27,750 USD (547 – 684 million VND). With the fully equipped version, the car is priced at 234,600 yuan (equivalent to 32,600 USD or 804 million VND).
Price of each version
In terms of exterior, the front of the car has a very simple design and uses a dual split headlight design. The size of the Dongfeng eπ 007 (length / width / height) is 4880mm / 1895mm / 1460 mm with a wheelbase length of 2915 mm, positioned in the D-segment with competitors from Toyota Camry and below the Dongfeng Voyah line, however, the price is only half of the Toyota Camry.
The car has two standard exterior paint colors: Night Shadow (black) and Dawn White (white), as well as 5 other optional colors with additional cost. The highest-end version is equipped with 19-inch wheels and Continental tires, while other versions of the Dongfeng eπ 007 use 18-inch wheels.
Inside the car, there is an 8.8-inch LCD meter cluster and a 15.6-inch center display screen.
All versions of the car are equipped with driving assistance functions including forward collision warning, AEB emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assistance, lane change assistance, blind spot monitoring, lane change warning, rear cross-traffic braking, and bird’s eye view.
In terms of the engine, the extended-range versions of the Dongfeng eπ 007 use a 1.5-liter engine. The rear-mounted 160kW electric motor has a maximum torque of 310 Nm. With a battery pack of 28.39 kWh, the car has a pure electric range of 200 km and a comprehensive operating range of up to 1,200 km.
The pure electric version of the car has options of one or two motors. With the single motor version, customers have two power options of 160 kW or 200 kW. The dual motor version will include a pair of powerful 200 kW motors.
The 0-100 km/h acceleration time of the dual motor version is 3 seconds. For battery options, customers have two LFP capacity options of 56.83 kWh and 70.26 kWh, allowing the car to achieve maximum ranges of 530 km, 620 km, and 540 km respectively.
eπ is a new NEV brand of Dongfeng Aeolus – a brand launched in April last year at the Shanghai Auto Show, belonging to the parent company Dongfeng. Dongfeng is an automaker headquartered in Wuhan, Hubei, China and is one of the top 4 Chinese automakers in terms of production volume along with 3 brands Changan Cars, FAW Group, and SAIC Motor.
The Eπ 007 will be the first car to be sold as a premium brand.
