At the conference, representatives of the Tax Department of Thu Duc City implemented the plan No. 97/ KH-UBND dated 21/02/2024 of Thu Duc City People’s Committee on tasks and solutions to complete and strive to achieve, exceed the state budget revenue estimate for 2024 in Thu Duc City.
In 2024, HCMC People’s Committee assigned the state budget revenue estimate target to Thu Duc City at 22,800 billion dong.
Previously, in 2023, the total state budget revenue of Thu Duc City reached 11,921 billion dong, reaching 66.23% of the estimate (18,000 billion dong) and equaling 59.39% compared to the same period (20,074 billion dong). The total local budget revenue implemented in the whole year was 4.345 billion dong, reaching 109.25% compared to the estimate and increasing 2.01% compared to the same period.
The conference also listened to the discussion of agencies and units, identified the existences, limitations, and responsibilities of each agency and unit in budget revenue work; as well as shared effective methods in budget revenue work…
In the concluding speech of the conference, Comrade Nguyen Bach Hoang Phung suggested that the units of Thu Duc City continued to strengthen measures to manage and develop revenue sources; ensure accurate, sufficient, and timely collection in accordance with the regulations of the law; enhance the work of tax management with a focus on topics with high tax risks such as e-commerce business activities, house rental activities, business premises for rent, online business, sharing economy, games, multi-level marketing… in order to strive to complete the state budget revenue in 2024.
In addition, Comrade Nguyen Bach Hoang Phung requested the units to effectively implement the 2024 theme “Determination to implement digital transformation and Resolution No. 98/2023 of the National Assembly” and enhance the work of controlling administrative procedures to detect, rectify, and handle violations of officials in the implementation of public duties in the tax field.
Thu Duc City, under Ho Chi Minh City, was officially approved by the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on July 24, 2020. The resolution was based on the integration of the natural area and population of 3 districts including District 2, District 9 and District Thu Duc. Thu Duc City covers an area of over 211 km2 (equivalent to 10% of the area of Ho Chi Minh City), with a population of about 1.014 million people. It is expected that by 2030, the population of the entire Thu Duc City will reach about 1.5 million people; by 2040, it will reach about 2.2 million people, aiming for 3 million people after 2040.
