BYD Reveals Lifetime Warranty Program for Atto 3 Powertrain: MarketTimes

In the context of the increasingly fierce global automotive market, manufacturers are constantly looking to prove the superiority of their products through quality and attractive warranty policies.

In the past, many car brands only offered warranties for the first year, but things have gradually changed. Recently, many automakers have extended their warranty periods to over 5 years, including Hyundai, Peugeot, and MG in Vietnam. In the US, some companies even offer warranties of up to 10 years.

However, BYD – one of China’s major brands – has gone ahead of its time with the most generous warranty program to date.

Specifically, BYD has announced a lifetime warranty for the powertrain of the Atto 3 model (also known as Yuan Plus) in the domestic market. This is considered a very bold move, reflecting BYD’s confidence in the quality and reliability of its products.

However, like any other warranty policy, there will certainly be conditions and terms. Notably, the warranty is not transferable and only applies to the first owner. At the same time, the warranty includes motor, battery, and inverter faults throughout the lifetime of the vehicle for the first owner.

The BYD Atto 3 2024 introduces the Honor Edition, a ‘Black Edition’ variant following the modern trend that most manufacturers are currently pursuing.

This version is upgraded with enhanced entertainment system software and a larger screen for the 2024 model, promising to be applied to the local version if the current model succeeds.

In particular, in the Philippines market, the BYD Atto 3 has two versions: the Standard Range and Extended Range, with operating ranges of 410km and 480km respectively. Both versions use a single engine with a power output of 201 horsepower and a torque of 310Nm.

The prices of these two versions range from 1,598,000 PHP to 1,798,000 PHP (equivalent to 708 – 797 million VND).

In the Vietnamese market, according to some sources, BYD will operate in Vietnam by opening authorized dealerships in Hanoi in May.

Previously, around mid-2023, the BYD Auto Vietnam fan page attracted attention on social media platforms by posting images of the Atto 3 model with the message “We are coming”. This is a “golden egg-laying hen” model of BYD in many markets, even leading the segment for several consecutive months in Thailand. If the Atto 3 is launched in Vietnam, it could be a direct competitor to VinFast VF 6.
