This is the story of turning a dream of cross-country travel into reality for a U70 driver named Hung Vuong. At his age, switching to an electric car may not be easy for many people. However, Mr. Hung Vuong shared that he has a passion for technology and believes in the intelligence and enthusiasm of the Vietnamese people, so he decided to deposit a VF 8.
After a few days of thorough research on the features and capabilities of the VF 8, as well as test driving hundreds of kilometers to get familiar with it, “bác tài” U70 bravely embarked on a nearly 2,000km journey across the country.
“It may sound unreasonable, but in reality, the VF 8 is very suitable for older people. The ADAS system was used almost throughout the journey, making the driving experience extremely comfortable, smooth, and not tense when traveling long distances or through crowded areas,” he shared after the long journey.
In addition to the accurately activated emergency braking system, the trip was also very safe thanks to the 360-degree camera system and the sensors around the car that provided full warnings of nearby vehicles and obstacles. Therefore, the 63-year-old man was proud that he had broken his personal record by driving from Hai Phong to Hue, covering a distance of 720km in 16 hours, something that not everyone of his age can do. “I really enjoyed it and want to continue,” the enthusiastic man said.
“The whole family” borrows an electric car because… it is amazing
VinFast electric cars also create unforgettable memories for Mr. Pham Thanh Dong. He jokingly recounted the story of spending billions to buy an electric car and… not being able to drive it. He said that during the recent Lunar New Year holiday, he carefully dressed up the car with dragon decals and red rims. He thought that with a “good car”, he would be able to freely travel during the holiday, but to his surprise, Mr. Dong was only able to use the car on the first day… The rest of the days, relatives and friends continuously borrowed the car to test drive and see if the VinFast electric car is really “amazing” and fuel-efficient as he had described.
The Lunar New Year journey of Mr. Dong’s family becomes more interesting with the VF 8 as a companion.
The car “never came home” until the sixth day and still hasn’t been returned to the rightful owner. “Luckily, whoever drives it, they all praise the car for its powerful performance, it accelerates faster than other cars,” said the car owner humorously.
Not only is VinFast VF 8 “amazing”, it is also very fuel-efficient. Many people who borrowed Mr. Dong’s car were surprised because the car has a high power output but the charging cost is less than 200,000 VND for a full day of driving. As a token of gratitude, many people happily gave Mr. Dong a “red envelope” worth… 500,000 VND.
Those compliments made Mr. Dong happy, even though he did not have a car to drive during the Lunar New Year. “I am sure that after the holiday, my family and relatives are ready to buy a few VinFast electric cars,” the car owner expressed.
Charging stations from the mountains to the sea
In another entry posted on Facebook, a user named Vi Van Thuy shared a memorable story about a recent trip to visit his family with the VF 5. The car traveled from Vinhomes Ocean Park (Hanoi), covering 170km on the highway and then 15km on the national road, and still had 42% battery when arriving home, without the need to charge along the way.
What surprised him was that even in an area with minority ethnic groups, VinFast charging stations had coverage close to his address, just a few minutes away. Therefore, charging the car during the days at home was quite easy. Mr. Thuy only needed to drive to the charging station for 30 minutes to have a full battery, at a cost of about 100,000 VND for a range of 300km. This price amazed his parents and relatives because “electric cars save a lot of money”, he said.
VinFast customers can “travel comfortably” to the mountains and the sea without worrying about “charging station concerns”.
For Ms. Le Bach Duong, the nationwide coverage of charging stations also allowed her family of six to have a safe and memorable 10-day trip covering 3,000km. “The nationwide coverage of charging stations is extremely convenient. Whenever we feel tired, Vivi (the virtual assistant in the car) helps us find the nearest charging station either through map.evclub.vn or the navigation system built into the car. It’s amazing that even after driving for a long time, the battery charge doesn’t seem to decrease much. When the battery level drops by about 30%, we take a rest,” Ms. Duong said.
Moreover, she also realized the special advantage of electric cars that charging stations are always open 24/7 even when regular gas stations are closed. This trip was taken with her English parents-in-law. According to her, both of them were impressed by VinFast’s intelligent electric cars and the nationwide charging network in Vietnam. “My parents-in-law really praised VinFast electric cars. They said that they had never sat in a car and driven continuously all day without feeling tired,” Ms. Duong shared.
