On March 13, the police in Cam Pha city, Quang Ninh province, announced that they have temporarily detained Nguyen Thuy Hang (born in 1989, residing at Block 5, Hoa Lac Ward, Cam Binh District, Cam Pha city) for engaging in usurious lending in civil transactions.

According to the initial investigation results, the police have determined that from 2023 until now, Hang has lent money to many people with interest rates ranging from 110.6% to 1,128%, with a total loan amount of nearly 1.4 billion VND and illicit profits of over 180 million VND.
The lending was done under the form of “vay bat ho” and hot interest loans, mainly to acquaintances and friends of Hang.
Currently, the case is being further investigated and verified by the Criminal Investigation Agency of Cam Pha city police to clarify the details and handle it according to the provisions of the law.
