On March 11th, Masatsugu Asakawa, the President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), along with the delegation, visited the electric motorcycle production line of Selex Motors in Yen Vien, Gia Lam, Hanoi.
During the welcome reception, the CEO of Selex Motors, Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuoc Nguyen, introduced the delegation to the development process, production line, and technology of Selex Motors’ electric motorcycle ecosystem.

The President of ADB and the delegation visited the manufacturing plant of Selex Motors.
The special visit of the ADB President to Selex Motors demonstrates the trust of reputable organizations in the region and around the world in the clean energy transition trend for businesses in Vietnam.
This is not the first time that Selex Motors, an electric motorcycle startup, has attracted the attention of foreign leaders. In July 2023, Selex Motors was the only company visited by the US Secretary of the Treasury during his working trip to Vietnam. In September 2023, the Director of the International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) experienced the Selex Motors’ electric motorcycle ecosystem.

In July 2023, Selex Motors welcomed US Secretary of the Treasury, Janet Yelle, to their factory.
Currently, Selex Motors is the first and only electric motorcycle startup in Southeast Asia to receive investment from the Asian Development Bank through the ADB Ventures investment fund.
As one of the few Made-in-Vietnam electric vehicle startups today, in the initial phase, Selex Motors is focusing on electric motorcycles for the transportation and logistics industries. The company has independently researched and developed the core technology of electric motorcycles, with 10 registered patents.
In addition, instead of building charging stations, Selex Motors follows the battery swapping model, which allows shared infrastructure with other brands. Currently, over 70% of electric motorcycles on the market can use Selex Motors’ battery swapping infrastructure. The founder and CEO of Selex Motors, Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuoc Nguyen, affirmed that the company is ready to share technology and jointly build a battery swapping network. In the future, the battery swapping network will resemble the gas station network of the new generation.
Selex Motors has also taken the initiative to prioritize the development of domestic supply chains, with more than 80% of components being produced domestically. This is highly appreciated by foreign partners in the context where Vietnam is expected to become an important link in the new global supply chain, especially in the clean energy sector.
Furthermore, the company’s products and ecosystem have significant value in protecting the environment, economy, and society. Selex Motors’ products and services are considered affordable, making it accessible to the general public, especially for customers who travel frequently and have low incomes, such as ride-hailing drivers. According to a study by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Selex Motors’ solutions help these drivers increase their average income by 34% while significantly reducing carbon emissions. Currently, Selex Motors’ products have been adopted and tested by major technology companies such as Grab, Gojek, Lazada, ShopeeFood…
