According to the South China Morning Post on March 12th, a couple visited a pearl shop in Hāmǎn City, Fujian Province, China, to inquire about the prices but decided not to make a purchase and left.

The jewelry store owner was accused of using vulgar language with the tourists.

Out of frustration for not being able to increase sales, the store owner taunted, “These hungry ghosts have no money and yet demand a price.”

Immediately after hearing the offensive remarks, the female tourist decided to confront them. The store owner continued to respond rudely. As the argument became more tense, the female tourist decided to report to the police. The authorities immediately approached the store and tried to resolve the matter.

The police and market management criticized the store owner for his unacceptable behavior. Subsequently, the man admitted his mistake and apologized.

“I apologize, in fact, that day I had trouble because of a family matter. I am truly sorry,” the store owner sincerely apologized, and the female tourist accepted it. However, the authorities still requested that the store owner temporarily close and reflect on his actions.
