The town of Song Cau is located in the north of Phu Yen province. It is known as the lobster capital because it has been farming lobsters since the 1990s. Not only that, the lobster production here is especially large.

In 2023, Song Cau town has nearly 63,000 cages, with a production of nearly 2,100 tons, accounting for 55% of the total lobster production in the country (3,800 tons). The estimated total value is VND 2,000 billion.

This is due to Song Cau’s 80 km long coastline, with 15,700 km2 of water. Many bays with calm winds, white sand, among which Xuan Dai Bay is outstanding. In 2011, Xuan Dai Bay was ranked as a National Landscape Monument.

Inside Xuan Dai Bay, there are many beautiful beaches such as Vung La, Vung Lam, Vung Chao and many islands such as Ong Xa islet, Nhat Tu Son island, Da Mai cape, Tai Ma cape… Among them, Nhat Tu Son island is famous for its unique path in the middle of the sea, only appearing when the tide recedes.

With the abundant natural resources it already has, Xuan Dai Bay attracts a series of real estate and resort projects such as: luxury resort Tram Beach, Tu Nham Beach; Hoa Emerald Bay resort; eco-tourism area Om Beach, Nom Beach; Xuân Đài Bay complex… The goal by 2025 is for Xuan Dai Bay to become a center for resort tourism, entertainment not only for the province but also for the South Central Coast region.

In terms of economy, after becoming a town in 2009, Song Cau is still a poor locality with a budget revenue of only over VND 41.5 billion (2010 figures). By the end of 2022, the budget revenue reached VND 503 billion, more than 12 times that of 2010. The economic structure has shifted towards increasing the proportion of the service sector, industry – construction, and reducing the proportion of agriculture.

Thanks to its abundant resources, Song Cau is attracting investment from corporations. In the future, TH Group will invest in factories in the Northeast Song Cau Industrial Park – Area 2 with an expected investment capital of VND 1,550 billion. Among them, the fish sauce factory is expected to produce 3.2 million liters per year, and the seafood processing factory will achieve an output of 25,000 tons per year.

In 2025, Song Cau will also have the North-South Expressway running through with a length of nearly 34 km. This helps transportation become faster, connecting the town with neighboring centers, facilitating the transportation of raw materials for factories and enterprises.

Currently, the Song Cau town government is upgrading the road infrastructure, especially coastal roads and main routes. The roads to tourist areas are also gradually being invested, upgraded, and expanded to create conditions to attract investment projects, develop tourism and services.

New residential areas and new urban areas are being concentrated on investment, such as: Le Uyen, Xuan Dai, Xuan Phu, Xuan Canh, Xuan Hai, Xuan Thinh, Xuan Loc, Xuan Phuong.

Song Cau town is determined to become a city by 2025. This is promising to be a high-quality tourism center with its own identity, part of a tourism urban chain in the South Central Coast; a sub-regional center for economics, culture, the gateway to the north of Phu Yen province, playing an important role in security and defense.

Song Cau town is located in the north of Phu Yen province, bordering Binh Dinh province.

The future city is a picture line of localities that have been approved for planning and are aimed at becoming cities.
