Speaker of the National Assembly: Urgent matter ready to be discussed in the upcoming 7th session

Chairman of the National Assembly Vương Đình Huệ has requested a thorough review of the content, prioritizing urgent matters to be immediately added to the agenda of the 7th session; any unfinished content will be rescheduled.

The 31st session of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly completed the entire agenda and concluded on the afternoon of March 19.

In his closing speech, Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue said that in 3.5 working days, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly examined and decided on 5 major groups of issues.

First, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly expressed opinions on the explanation, absorption, and adjustment of 7 draft laws, including: The Capital Law (amendment); The Law on the Organization of People’s Courts (amendment); The Law on Social Insurance (amendment); The Road Law; The Law on Traffic Safety; The Law on Defense Industry, Security and Incentives for Industrial Development, and The Law amending and supplementing some articles of the Asset Auction Law.

Thus, together with 2 draft laws that were given opinions on absorption and adjustment at the 30th plenary session, up to now, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly has completed the process of opinions absorption and explanation for all 9 draft laws that the National Assembly discussed at the 6th session, and is expected to submit for approval at the 7th session.

The Chairman of the National Assembly requested the Secretary General of the National Assembly, together with the relevant agencies, to promptly issue a notice on the conclusion of the meeting so that the agencies have a basis to complete the project files for submission for opinion at the specialized conference of the National Assembly delegates.

Among them, some draft laws are quite complete, and some draft laws continue to be adjusted and edited according to the opinions of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly.

Second, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly considered and approved two resolutions on the establishment of An Dien and An Tay wards under Ben Cat town and the establishment of Ben Cat city in Binh Duong province; the establishment and arrangement of wards under Go Cong town and the establishment of Go Cong city in Tien Giang province.

Third, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly also expressed opinions on the report on volunteer work in February 2024.

Fourth, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly considered and approved the resolution on the approval of personnel holding the position of Standing Member of the National Defense and Security Committee, and Standing Member of the Justice Committee of the National Assembly.

Fifth, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly organized question and answer sessions for 2 groups of issues in the management field of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Chairman of the National Assembly affirmed that the question and answer session at the 31st regular session of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly has fulfilled the set requirements.

Based on the development of the question and answer session, the reports of the ministries, and the concluding speeches of the question and answer session, the Chairman of the National Assembly proposed that the Secretary General of the National Assembly urgently prepare a draft resolution to seek the opinion of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, promptly issue a resolution on question and answer as a legal basis for implementation.

It is known that in the coming time, there will be many tasks to be implemented. The Chairman of the National Assembly proposed that the Chairman of the Ethnic Council, Chairpersons of the Committees of the National Assembly, urgently work with the relevant agencies to carefully review the contents, determine urgent matters, and prepare immediate supplements to the agenda of the 7th session; for contents that have not been prepared in time, the schedule will be adjusted accordingly.

Tung Phong
