Appearance Rich In Personality

Launched in the Vietnamese market on December 16, 2023, Hyundai Venue has attracted a lot of attention from customers with its beautiful and modern exterior. After 2 months in early 2024, the sales of this model reached 293 units.

Hyundai Venue has an exterior design that is influenced by its sister model, Palisade, with a large grille in the shape of a Cascading Waterfall Grill in the Parametric Dynamic style. The overall dimensions of the car are 3,995 x 1,770 x 1,645 (mm) in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 2,500 mm and a ground clearance of 195 (mm). The weight of the Hyundai Venue is about 1.2 tons.

The front of the car stands out with full LED lighting, using a projector lens encapsulated in an integrated LED daytime running light, and the turn signal lights are raised above.. Below the grille is a large air intake, surrounded by a trim that adds a rugged look.

The new dual 5-spoke alloy wheels, with a two-tone paint scheme and standard 16-inch size, are accompanied by 215/60 tires. The first batches of cars, including the experiential models, are equipped with MRF brand tires, which are quite unfamiliar in Vietnam. However, according to research, this is the largest domestic tire brand in India.

The rear of the car features LED tail lights with a trending design that stretches across the width of the car. The details of the tail lights resemble pixel shapes, similar to the contemporary designs of Hyundai electric cars.

Surprising Power Experience

Hyundai Venue uses the Kappa 1.0L 3-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine that produces a maximum power of 120 horsepower and a maximum torque of 172 Nm. The car is only available with standard front-wheel drive and a dual-clutch 7-speed transmission. The car has 3 driving modes, including Eco for fuel efficiency, Normal for balance, and Sport for a sportier driving experience.

This engine from Hyundai in Europe uses an electrically controlled waste-gate to optimize flow, improve low-end torque and throttle sensitivity; along with a fuel injector with a pressure of up to 200 bar to increase fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. This is necessary for a small engine size aimed at fuel economy.

The standard Hyundai Venue is equipped with basic safety systems such as ABS, EBD, BA, electronic stability control (ESC), hill-start assist control (HAC), traction control system (TCS), reverse camera, and tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The standard version is equipped with two airbags, while the special and high-end versions have 6 airbags.

In terms of handling, when driving in unloaded conditions or in urban conditions, the Hyundai Venue behaves quite well, with good soundproofing, no engine noise or road noise entering the cabin even without soundproofing foam. The electric power steering is smooth and the steering is quite accurate. When driving on the highway, the level of assistance gradually decreases, making the steering more solid.

When driving on hilly terrain with sharp bends and bumpy roads with speed bumps, the car still maintains stable performance, which is quite surprising. The phenomenon of frame twist when turning at high speeds is almost eliminated. The steering is accurate, with a few times when the ESC warning light flashes, indicating that the safety system is working effectively whenever the accelerator is applied excessively during cornering.

Thanks to the 215/60 thick tires, the car runs smoothly even on rough roads. Moreover, thanks to the 200 mm ground clearance, the Hyundai Venue easily handles bad terrains and light off-roading. The dual-clutch transmission shows its nimble gear shifting ability, helping the car accelerate more forcefully and provide a more exciting experience after each press of the accelerator.

Switching to Sport Mode, the Venue becomes more aggressive. Acceleration responds quickly as the car accelerates without hesitation. This proves to be superior to its competitors in the same segment, as there is still a brief “thought” before accelerating. At this point, the car is no longer quiet, and the sound of the engine entering the cabin is quite clear.

The roaring sound of the engine every time the speed is increased to prepare for the next acceleration creates excitement for the driver, of course, in the context of an A-segment mass-market car. In terms of driving experience, the Venue brings excitement as well as the largest driving power in its segment.

Although it lacks the active safety system Hyundai SmartSense, the Venue has done a good job of creating a beautiful and practical SUV with sufficient power, providing a joyful driving experience for the majority.
