At around 6 pm on April 6, the family of Ms. N., residing in Thuan Hoa ward (Hue city), reported to the police that their house had been broken into and over 253 million VND had been stolen.

The Investigation Police Team on Social Order and Safety Crimes – Hue City Police quickly organized forces to investigate the incident. At 9 pm the same day, the police arrested the perpetrator, Pham Van Hieu.

At the investigation agency, Hieu confessed that at around 1 am on April 3, he walked along the street with the intention of finding a house that was unsecured to break into and steal property.

When he arrived in front of Ms. N’s house, the subject discovered that the ventilation window was open, so he broke into the house.

After entering the house, Hieu searched around and found a safe with the key still in it, so he opened it and stole over 253 million VND before quickly escaping.

Hieu then took 200 million VND to the bank to deposit, and used the rest for personal expenses.
