Foreigners Net Sell Nearly VND1 Trillion on VN-Index’s Steep Fall, Which Stocks Bear the Brunt?

Following the slight net buying reversal, foreign players created pressure in the market by selling massively.

Yesterday’s fast-paced rally quickly drowned in the pressure of closing profit in the afternoon session. Red dominated the board with 574 codes falling, VN-Index closed the session on April 17 with a decrease of 22.67 points (-1.86%), officially “breaking” the crucial support level to retreat to 1.993 points. It is worth mentioning that liquidity dropped sharply during the downturn when the matching value on HOSE only reached approximately VND17,000 billion. 

Foreign block transactions were not very positive as they sold a net VND 991 billion in the entire market.

On HOSE, foreign investors sold a net of approximately VND 987 billion.

On the buying side, VNM stock was strongly net bought by foreign investors at VND 106 billion. Besides, GMD and MWG are the next two stocks that were net bought 62 and 28 billion VND on HOSE, respectively.

In contrast, FUEVFVND faced the strongest selling pressure from foreign investors at VND 340 billion, followed by VHM and SHB, which were also sold at 146 and 95 billion VND each.

On HNX, foreign investors sold a net of VND 27 billion

On the buying side, LAS was the most strongly net bought with a value of VND 5.5 billion. Besides, DTD ranked next in the strong net buying books on HNX with VND 4.6 billion. In addition, foreign investors also spent several billion VND to collect TNG, IDC, and CEO.

On the other hand, TIG was the code that suffered the net selling pressure from foreign investors at nearly VND 10 billion; followed by PVS, which was sold at about VND 8 billion.

On UPCOM, foreign investors bought a net of VND 23 billion

On the buying side, ACV stock was purchased by foreign investors at nearly VND 19 billion. Following, QNS and BSR were also net bought with a few billion VND for each code.
