Bids will be called for the selection of contractors for packages 4.7, 4.8, 4.9, 7.8, and 11.5 in the near future.
Package 4.7, which covers the construction and installation of equipment for the aircraft parking apron and other facilities, has completed the engineering design review, and the design is being approved and the contractor selection process is underway, with an expected completion date of August 2026.
Package 4.8, which involves the construction, installation of equipment, and preparation of construction drawings for the internal port traffic system and the airport’s technical infrastructure, has also completed the engineering design review and is expected to be completed by July 2026.
For Package 4.9, which covers the construction and installation of equipment for the aircraft fuel supply system, the contractor selection process is underway, with an expected completion date of May 2026.
All three packages, 4.7, 4.8, and 4.9, are expected to commence construction in July 2024.
Package 7.8, which covers the construction and installation of equipment for Cargo Terminal 1 and its auxiliary facilities (expected to be completed in May 2026), and Package 11.5, which covers the construction and installation of equipment for the Parking Garage (expected to be completed in August 2026), are both currently in the engineering design phase and are expected to commence construction in January 2025.
The Long Thanh International Airport project has an estimated total investment of approximately VND 336,630 billion, divided into three phases. Phase 1 will see the construction of one runway, a passenger terminal, and ancillary facilities with a capacity of 25 million passengers per year. Phase 1 of the project is scheduled to be completed and operational by 2026.
In Phase 2, the airport will add a second runway and a terminal to increase capacity to 50 million passengers per year. Phase 3 will complete the remaining infrastructure to bring the airport’s capacity to 100 million passengers per year.
