On April 16, the Quang Nam Provincial People’s Committee sent an official dispatch to departments, agencies, and subordinate units of the province; the People’s Committees of districts, towns, and cities, regarding coordination and provision of information related to Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company.
According to the Quang Nam Provincial People’s Committee, after examining the information, Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company and Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, Chairman of the Board of Directors, violated the bidding regulations.
Therefore, Quang Nam requests that departments, agencies, and the People’s Committees of districts, towns, and cities urgently direct relevant departments, units, and localities to review projects and investment projects in the area related to Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company (contractors, investors).
As reported, on April 15, the Ministry of Public Security’s Investigation Police Agency issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Nguyen Duy Hung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company, for investigation for the crime of Violating bidding regulations, causing serious consequences.
The accused Hung was arrested during the investigation by the Department of Investigation Police for Crimes of Corruption, Economic Crimes, and Smuggling (C03) of the case of “Violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences; Bribery; Receiving bribes” occurring at Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company and related units and organizations.
In the same case, C03 also prosecuted and temporarily detained Mr. Tran Anh Quang – General Director of Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company for the crime of “Bribery”.
Mr. Nguyen Khac Man – Deputy General Director of Thuan An Group was also prosecuted and temporarily detained by C03.
In addition, two officials of the Project Management Unit for Construction Investment of Transport and Agricultural Works of Bac Giang Province, Nguyen Van Thao, Director of the Department, and Dam Van Cuong, Deputy Director of the Department, were also prosecuted and detained for the crime of “Violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences”. In particular, Mr. Thao was investigated for the additional crime of “Accepting bribes”.
Mr. Hoang The Du, Head of the Bac Giang Provincial Project Management Unit, was also prosecuted and detained for the crime of “Violating bidding regulations, causing serious consequences”.
The case is currently being investigated by the Ministry of Public Security’s Investigation Police Agency.
