According to the reporter’s records, from the beginning of April 2024 to the present, the people’s need for inspection has gradually increased, and the registration centers in Hanoi have begun to show many vehicles lined up for inspection from 7:30 AM daily (opening hours); however, it is quite smooth and people still do not have to wait long for their turn to register for inspection.
At the Motor Vehicle Inspection Center 29-02S (Yen Vien commune, Gia Lam district, Hanoi), from 7:30 AM every day, there have been many vehicles lined up waiting to register for inspection from the gate to the area where the inspection process is carried out. Although vehicles come for inspection continuously, vehicle owners and drivers do not have to wait long. With 2 inspection lines, on average, the center inspects about 100 vehicles each day. If the vehicle meets the inspection standards and norms, it will take only 45 to 60 minutes to complete the inspection process.
Although the people’s demand for motor vehicle inspection has increased, the current capacity of the registration centers can fully meet the demand.
The representative of Motor Vehicle Registration Center 29-02S said that in anticipation of the forecast increase in inspection demand during the months of April to June 2024, in order to proactively serve the people, the center has proposed adding manpower and maintaining the equipment, inspection machinery and lines to ensure precise and smooth operation.
People who have a need to have their vehicle inspected must do so before the inspection due date, so that in the event of any failed items, they can take the vehicle for repair and maintenance and return for inspection in a timely manner during the day, and not let the vehicle circulate on the road after the registration inspection expiration date and risk being fined. In addition, vehicle owners and drivers should avoid registering for inspection at the beginning of the week, as the demand for registration inspection is usually higher on these days, to avoid having to wait a long time.
Through research, using data to forecast the people’s inspection needs in 2024, the Vietnam Vehicle Registration Department (MOT) has sent a notice to the Department of Transport of each locality regarding the list and number of vehicles due for inspection, in order to proactively requisition, mobilize and add inspection staff to the inspection centers, ensuring stable maintenance of the inspection lines.
The Department also disseminates information to the people to proactively maintain, register and schedule inspection appointments online through the application of the Vehicle Registration Department, reducing the concentration at a number of inspection centers, which can easily cause congestion.
