Work proceeds at a brisk pace on the Liên Chiểu coastal road project (Liên Chiểu district, Da Nang city) as noted by reporters in mid-April. The road is gradually taking shape in many sections.

Construction on the Liên Chiểu coastal road project proceeds at a brisk pace

According to the Da Nang Priority Infrastructure Investment Project Management Board (the project investor), the Liên Chiểu coastal road is just under 3 km long but has a total investment capital of 1,203 billion VND.

Accordingly, the road is designed for a speed of 60 km/h with a high-grade A1 road surface and major components such as construction of grade-separated flyovers at the junction with the North-South railway and Nguyen Van Cu street (Highway 1); a grade-separated flyover at the junction with the Nam Hai Van Pass bypass road.

Construction of a bridge over the canal and a new Liên Chiểu bridge. Construction of underpasses for the Suối Lương entrance and the Liên Chiểu Industrial Park internal road, etc.

To date, the project investor has coordinated with local entities to relocate 286/291 tombs and transferred the land clearance to 199/255 households (56 households have yet to transfer the land clearance).

Units implement multiple construction fronts simultaneously at locations with land clearance, working overtime to ensure progress. To date, the value of work completed is 165.5 billion VND out of 888.7 billion VND (18.6%) with the completion of many items such as underpasses, bored piles, piers, beam casting, etc.

The Da Nang Priority Infrastructure Investment Project Management Board said that by the end of 2024, the project aims to achieve 60% of the construction volume value (equivalent to 534 billion VND) and to complete 100% of the capital plan allocated for 2024.

However, land acquisition and clearance issues, including land and tomb records, are still pending and need to be resolved in April 2024 in order to ensure project progress.

In particular, within the scope of construction of the roadbed from Km1+480 to Km1+540, there is a drainage canal at the Suối Lương stream (with Saigon – Da Nang Investment Joint Stock Company as the project investor), but it has not yet been constructed to divert the flow into the canal bridge for the Liên Chiểu coastal road project.

“The delay in the construction of the drainage canal has significantly impacted the project’s progress, making it difficult to transport construction materials,” – the project investor said.
