Apart from the 3 basic modes that every air conditioner has, manufacturers also add other additional modes to their products for specific purposes. Although these additional features have some applications in certain cases, there is one mode that should not be used, which is Powerful.
In this article, let’s find out why we should limit the use of Powerful mode and how to use it effectively if necessary.

What is Powerful mode on air conditioner?

Basically, Powerful is an upgraded Cool mode. When choosing Powerful mode, the cooling capacity of the air conditioner will increase by 10%, helping to reduce the room temperature more quickly. This is also the strongest mode of an air conditioner.

When Powerful is activated, both the compressor and fan are pushed to their highest power levels. This mode will be maintained for up to 20 minutes, before the air conditioner automatically switches back to normal cooling mode (Cool).

How to activate Powerful mode

It is very simple to activate Powerful mode, you just need to point the remote control toward the air conditioner and press the Powerful button. When the air conditioner beeps and the “weightlifter” icon appears on the control screen, the Powerful mode has been successfully activated.

Why you should not use Powerful mode

By forcing the air conditioner to operate 10% more powerfully than the normal cooling mode, Powerful mode puts the air conditioner in a state of “full capacity” continuously for up to 20 minutes. Using Powerful mode for a long time will require you to clean and maintain the air conditioner more frequently than normal.

Also, due to operating at high power continuously, the air conditioner will consume more electricity. Therefore, if it is not really necessary to cool the room “almost immediately”, users should limit the use of Powerful mode to avoid incurring unnecessary costs.

Instead of turning on this mode as soon as you get home to cool the room quickly, users can set a timer to turn on the air conditioner automatically, maybe 20 minutes before you arrive home. Or you can also apply some other tips to make the air conditioner cool faster, such as opening the door of the room for hot air to escape, turning on the wind circulation mode to cool the room more evenly, and using a fan to optimize energy consumption and help the air conditioner last longer.
