Din Thi Huyen Thanh, CEO of PGBank, Resigns

On April 19, Ms. Din Thi Huyen Thanh, Member of the Board of Directors and General Director of Prosperity and Development Joint Stock Bank (PGBank – PGB), submitted her resignation from both positions, effective April 25, due to personal reasons. Her resignation as member of PGBank’s BOD will take effect after approval by the next General Meeting of Shareholders. Ms. Thanh wishes to resign from her position as General Director effective April 25, 2024.

Ms. Thanh’s resignation comes after 10 months with the bank and 5 months as General Director. Ms. Din Thi Huyen Thanh holds a PhD in Finance and Banking (Maastricht University, the Netherlands) and has over 17 years of experience in finance and banking. She has held key positions at RaboBank in the Netherlands and the US, as well as at Techcombank. In July 2023, Ms. Din Thi Huyen Thanh joined PGBank as Director of Administration and Human Resources Development. In August 2023, Ms. Huyen Thanh was officially appointed Deputy General Director in charge of Administration and Human Resources Development. On October 23, 2023, PGBank’s Board of Directors approved the appointment of Ms. Thanh – Member of the BOD for the 2020-2025 term as Acting General Director of the Bank. On November 17, 2023, Ms. Din Thi Huyen Thanh was appointed by PGBank as Member of the Board of Directors and General Director of the bank.

Notably, Ms. Huyen Thanh submitted her resignation application just 1 day before the bank held its annual General Meeting of Shareholders. On April 20, the bank held its meeting at The Five Villas & Resort Ninh Binh, Yen Mo district, Ninh Binh province.

Previously, two other PGBank executives had resigned for personal reasons: Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lap, an independent member of the BOD, and Mr. Nguyen Thanh To, Deputy General Director of PGBank.

In his resignation letter, Mr. Nguyen Thanh To – Deputy General Director in charge of Balance Sheet and Capital Business, stated that he had worked for the bank for 14 years and 10 months. He now wishes to terminate his employment contract early and resign effective May 21 for personal reasons. 

In addition to Mr. To, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam – an independent member of the BOD, also submitted a resignation letter on April 16. “Due to personal work reasons, I can no longer continue in this position,” said Mr. Lam.
