The Ring Road 4 project – the Capital Region has a total length of about 112.8 kilometers, passing through the provinces and cities of Hanoi, Hung Yen, and Bac Ninh with a total investment of nearly 86,000 billion VND, the largest of the public investment projects in the Northern region. This is a route with expressways (maximum speed of 100 km/h) and urban roads. Ring Road 4 – the Hanoi Capital region, the section passing through Bac Ninh province has a length of about 35.3 kilometers, passing through Thuan Thanh township, Que Vo township, Gia Binh district, and Bac Ninh City. Bac Ninh will undertake 2 items with a total capital of over 5,200 billion VND, of which nearly 2,500 billion VND is for land clearance and more than 2,700 billion VND for investment in roads on both sides. The expressway section of Ring Road 4 through Bac Ninh will be under the responsibility of Hanoi City People’s Committee.
Out of 35.3 kilometers, the section of Ring Road 4 is about 25.6 kilometers long. The remaining 9.7 kilometers are the section connecting Noi Bai – Ha Long Expressway to the Hanoi – Bac Giang Expressway. In the photo is the section connecting Ring Road 4 with Noi Bai – Ha Long Expressway.
Regarding the construction progress, in April 2024, at the starting point of Ring Road 4 in Bac Ninh province, located in Song Lieu commune, Thuan Thanh township (bordering Hung Yen province), the contractor mobilized many workers and machinery to build. At this section, Ring Road 4 is being molded, covered with soil, and compacted.
Passing through Ngu Thai commune, the roadbed has been formed, many sections of the foundation have been compacted, but there are no workers and construction machinery, most of which are concentrated at the starting point.
Also in the Thuan Thanh township area, in Ninh Xa ward, another construction front has been formed (right next to National Highway 38). Here, only the roadbed has been created and a short section has been constructed, the road boundary in the distance has just appeared.
In Gia Binh district, the section located right next to National Highway 17, Ring Road 4 has only been formed a very short section.
The Ring Road 4 project through Que Vo township also has not seen much activity. In the photo is Chi Lang commune, the section crossing the Duong River, which is expected to build Hoai Thuong bridge.
At the end point of Ring Road 4 connecting to Noi Bai – Ha Long Expressway, the construction front is located next to Que Vo Industrial Park, and Ring Road 4 has only formed a short section.
In general, Ring Road 4 in Bac Ninh province is divided into many construction sections. The implementation speed is quite slow, although after many months, most of them have only formed short sections, and workers and machinery are also only concentrated at the beginning of the way.
According to the Bac Ninh Provincial Planning for the 2021 – 2030 period, with a vision to 2050. Bac Ninh province strives to become a city directly under the Central Government. Ring Road 4 is a key project to develop transport infrastructure, enhance connectivity, create momentum, have a spillover effect between regions, and create a new development space for the Capital Region.
