In the preparation work report, Secretary-General of the National Assembly and Head of the Office of the National Assembly Bui Van Cuong said that the total working time of the 7th session is expected to be 26 days. Accordingly, the session will open on May 20 and is scheduled to close on the morning of June 27.
The National Assembly will meet at the National Assembly House, divided into 2 phases. Phase 1 is 17 days, from May 20 to June 8; Phase 2 is 9 days, from June 17 to the morning of June 27.
It is expected that at the 7th session, the National Assembly will consider 24 contents related to the legislative work; 16 contents on socio-economic, state budget, supervision and other important issues; at the same time, there are 20 groups of contents sent by agencies for National Assembly deputies to self-study. The session is scheduled to allocate 2.5 days for questioning and answering.
According to Mr. Bui Van Cuong, the preparation of the contents of the session has been and is being carried out urgently by relevant agencies to ensure quality, progress, and timely service for the session. At the session, Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue emphasized that according to the plan of the session, the workload is very heavy. Accordingly, the National Assembly will consider and adopt 10 Draft Laws and 3 Draft Resolutions containing legal norms; give initial opinions on 11 Draft Laws and many important contents on socio-economic, state budget, questioning, thematic supervision and other important issues.
Highly appreciating the efforts, working spirit, proactiveness, and urgency of the agencies in preparing the dossiers and documents to be submitted to the National Assembly at the upcoming session, Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue requested the agencies to continue to uphold their responsibility, closely coordinate, make the highest efforts and determination, urgently complete the dossiers and documents, and strive to submit the documents on time as prescribed.
Regarding the draft Law on Fire Prevention and Fighting and 2 draft Resolutions that have been added to the 2024 Law and Ordinance Building Program, Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue proposed that the Government complete the dossiers for the competent agencies to appraise and submit to the NA Standing Committee for opinions at the May meeting before submitting to the National Assembly.
Chairman of the National Assembly’s Committee on Science, Technology and Environment Le Quang Huy also said that according to the plan, the agency will appraise 2 contents to be submitted to the National Assembly for opinions at the 7th session, including the Law on Geology and Minerals; National Sea Space Planning. Therefore, he proposed that the relevant agencies expedite the progress of sending documents and submissions to ensure the progress of the appraisal.
