Clark Moody has listed the most valuable blocks in Bitcoin history that were mined after the Halving event.
In a notable X post by Clark Moody, he shared interesting insights about the recent Bitcoin Halving event.
Moody listed down the top 9 most valuable blocks in Bitcoin history that were mined following the Halving event, with one notable block believed to be the recipient of the $3 million overpayment mishap that took place in November last year.
The Bitcoin Halving event took place successfully in the late hours of April 19, 2024, significantly affecting the whole cryptocurrency market.
Chinese crypto journalist Colin Wu disclosed that the minting of Runes fetched an average revenue per block of 21.74 BTC. Furthermore, transaction fee rewards per block surged as high as 18.62 BTC each.
The first halving block was reported to have garnered a total of $2.6 million in fees and block rewards. Meanwhile, the other blocks ranged from $1.3 million to $2 million in value. However, the $3 million accidental transaction remains to be the highest.
In November 2023, a BTC user accidentally paid 83.65 BTC, or more than $3.1 million to move 55.77 BTC ($2.1 million). The balance before the transaction was 139.42 BTC ($5.2 million) and the user overpaid by 120,528 satoshis, which is more than six times the $500k fee at the time.
Meanwhile, Bitcoin remains relatively stable post the Halving event. It is currently trading at $65,056, seeing a slight 1.01% increase over the last 24 hours.
