For many users, the iPhone has been the gold standard of smartphones for the past decade. However, the number of Apple smartphone options available on the market can be overwhelming.
Phone Arena analyzed the market and found three budget iPhone models that are still worth buying in 2024:
1. iPhone XR: Despite being released by Apple in late 2018, this smartphone is still competitive with newer iPhone models in terms of performance and features.
The iPhone XR features a 6.1-inch LCD display, a 12MP primary camera, and a 7MP front-facing camera that takes great photos for social media. It will also continue to receive iOS updates through late 2025.
Be aware that Apple no longer sells this model, so it will need to be purchased from a third-party retailer.
2. iPhone SE 2022: This mid-range smartphone is unique in several ways. First, it’s the most affordable iPhone model that Apple currently sells.
Second, it has a 4.7-inch display, which is compact enough to use one-handed. Third, Its Apple A15 chip and iOS optimization ensure it will continue to perform well for the next five years.
Add in a good single rear camera and all-day battery life, and you have a solid choice.
3. iPhone 13: This is another iPhone model that is still available from Apple.
Since its release in 2021, the price of this model has dropped to $599. For that price, you get a powerful iPhone with great battery life, 5G support, a stylish design, and a proven camera system that takes great photos that are virtually indistinguishable from the latest iPhone models.
You’ll get at least four more years of use out of it, backed by iOS updates.
Despite the new Apple iPhone lineup being nearly 6 months away, there’s already a fair amount of information available about the rumored iPhone 16 series.
It’s been suggested that the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will not only get a size increase but also camera and battery upgrades.
The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are said to be getting a record number of color options along with an updated camera design.
There have even been some iPhone 17 leaks suggesting Apple’s 2025 smartphone lineup could have a major front-facing camera upgrade and that the standard and Plus models will finally get ProMotion OLED displays with 120Hz refresh rates.
