According to a survey by reporters, in mid-April 2024, Toyota’s A-segment model – Wigo is being discounted by dealers by 10 million VND in order to attract buyers as well as boost sales.
Accordingly, the Toyota Wigo G automatic version is being offered by dealers at a price of only 397 million VND, an 8 million VND reduction compared to the original listed price. Meanwhile, the E manual version has been reduced by 10 million VND from 360 million VND to 350 million VND.
In addition to the price reduction promotion, customers who buy a car will also receive a heat-insulating film and a floor mat.
Returning to the Vietnamese market in June 2023, the Toyota Wigo’s exterior details have been redesigned to be more modern, from the large trapezoidal grille to the full-LED lighting system with follow-me-home lighting, and the delicate door handles with the smart door opening feature – which is only available on higher-segment car models.
Inside, the car is equipped with a 7-inch floating central entertainment screen with smartphone connectivity, an instrument cluster with an Eco mode indicator, smart door opening, a gear position indicator, a steering wheel with integrated audio controls, hands-free calling, automatic air conditioning, and more.
Powering the Wigo is a 1.2L engine and a choice of D-CVT transmissions. The car has an average fuel consumption of 4.3 liters/100km depending on driving conditions.
Notable safety features include blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, hill-start assist, electronic stability control, and more.
At the end of March 2024, according to figures released by the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA) and TC Motor, sales of A-segment car models all recorded a relatively large increase compared to the previous month of February.
Hyundai Grand i10 is the best-selling model with 598 units reaching customers, an increase of 127% compared to the previous month. Cumulatively in the first 3 months of this year, Hyundai Grand i10 achieved sales of 1,341 units, far ahead of its two segment rivals, Toyota Wigo and Kia Morning.
Meanwhile, Toyota Wigo ranked second with sales of 288 units, up 94.5%. In third place is Kia Morning with sales of 73 units, up 78%.
