3 investors buy 130 million HAG shares

Mr. Doan Nguyen Duc (Duc Bau) – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Joint Stock Company (stock code: HAG) – has just signed the resolution of the board of directors (BOD) approving the list of investors who have deposited money to buy private shares.

Accordingly, 3 investors, including: Thaigroup Corporation, LPBank Securities Company, and private investor Le Minh Tam. In which, Thaigroup purchased 52 million shares, LPBank Securities purchased 50 million shares and Mr. Le Minh Tam purchased 28 million shares. These investors are all related to Lien Viet Post Joint Stock Bank (LPBank – stock code: LPB).

HAG increases charter capital from over 9,270 billion VND to nearly 10,570 billion VND.

Thus, HAG has successfully sold 130 million private shares, with an offering price of VND 10,000/share and raising VND 1,300 billion. After the private placement, HAG also approved the amendment to the company’s charter, increasing the charter capital from over VND 9,270 billion to over VND 10,570 billion.

At the beginning of March, LPBank and HAG signed a VND 5,000 billion credit contract, with priority given to investment in green agriculture. In phase 1, LPBank will disburse VND 3,000 billion so that HAG can boost new investment, care and development of 3 key products, including bananas, durians, and pig farming. At the same time, LPBank will send a representative to join HAG’s BOD to directly support, consult, and enhance the company’s management capacity and operational efficiency.

With the capital support from LPBank, HAG sets the following development goals for the new phase: increasing durian acreage to 2,000 hectares and banana acreage to 9,000 hectares in 2024. In 2025, HAG will continue to invest to increase the durian acreage to 3,000 hectares and the banana acreage to over 10,000 hectares. It is expected that in 2026, HAG’s planted area for bananas, durians and other valuable trees will reach 25,000 hectares in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.

In addition to developing durians and fruit trees, HAG will continue to expand the land bank, prioritize investments in infrastructure improvement, packaging plants, etc., with a focus on applying advanced technologies and production methods to increase productivity and product quality, while contributing to transforming the labor structure in agriculture.

From April 1, Hoang Anh Gia Lai launched its new brand identity with a new color scheme. HAG’s new logo retains the layout and meaning of the old logo but changes in color. Accordingly, the new logo has 3 colors: yellow, brown, and white, which are quite similar to the logo colors of LPBank.

Duc Bau earns VND 1,300 billion.

According to HAG, the change in the logo’s color aims to give HAG a cohesive, consistent, and harmonious image, associated with producing clean and safe agricultural products from the application of a circular agriculture model.

HAG was established in 1993. After more than 3 decades, this is the first time HAG changes its logo . This move comes after HAG has continuously made many changes in its group structure, creditors, and senior management.

Hode raises 300 billion to pay off bank debts

On May 2, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Housing Development Joint Stock Company (Hodeco – stock code: HDC) will set a record date for shareholders to exercise their rights to issue shares in the ratio of 1,000:148, meaning that shareholders owning 1,000 shares are entitled to purchase an additional 148 new shares with a price of VND 15,000/share.

Ba Ria-Vung Tau Housing Development Joint Stock Company will issue approximately 20 million additional shares, raising VND 300 billion to pay off bank debts.

Investors will register and pay to purchase from May 10 to June 5. It is estimated that Hodeco will issue approximately 20 million additional shares to raise VND 300 billion. Hodeco plans to use all of the raised funds to pay for the principal and interest on a number of bank loans, with disbursement from the first quarter to the third quarter of 2024. In which, it will repay VND 75 billion to BIDV, VND 91 billion to PG Bank, VND 54 billion to TP Bank, and VND 80 billion to Vietcombank.

As of March 4, Hodeco had only one major shareholder, Mr. Doan Huu Thuan – Chairman of Hodeco’s BOD, owning 9.84% of the charter capital, while the remaining 90.16% of the charter capital belonged to small shareholders owning less than 5% of the charter capital.

With the dispersed shareholder structure, on April 6, Hodeco was unable to hold its annual general meeting of shareholders as only representatives of 47.91% of the total shares entitled to vote attended.
