Entering Q2/2024, domestic brands have been eager to improve their business performance. One indicator of this is the price “war” in the C-segment SUV segment – the most dynamic market in the Vietnamese automotive industry today; a series of big and small names are participating.
Haval H6 – a model from China is currently offered by consultants at a relatively attractive price.
Specifically, the Haval H6 hybrid has a listed price of VND 986 million, a cash discount of VND 100 million, and an additional VND 20 million to support the registration fee. As such, customers can own a car with an actual cost of only about VND 870 million.
Haval H6 was first launched in the Vietnamese market by the distributor in mid-2023, with a price of VND 1,096 billion – equivalent to Honda CR-V, Hyundai Santa Fe; while itself is only a C-segment SUV on par with Mazda CX-5, Ford Territory… Later, due to poor sales, the SUV from China was discounted by VND 100 million, with promotions bringing the current car price down to under VND 900 million.
On the other hand, the market has witnessed the “best seller” Mazda CX-5 continue to be reduced by distributor Thaco by an additional VND 10 million, “setting a bottom” for the C-segment SUV segment – with a starting price of under VND 750 million, specifically from VND 749 – 979 million.
Not far behind, the Korean joint venture Hyundai Thanh Cong also showed a clear determination to compete, when it heavily reduced VND 30 – 35 million for Tucson. Thereby, helping Hyundai’s best-selling SUV have a very affordable price – from VND 769, 839, 909 and 919 million – for 4 versions.
And right from the beginning of April 2024, the American brand – Ford also quickly launched a promotion for Territory with a discount of VND 20 – 25 million, in order to compete with rivals in the same segment. Currently, the car price ranges from VND 799 – 899 and 929 million, depending on the configuration of the three versions.
The C-segment SUV segment also saw a series of other names also receiving great incentives, up to hundreds of millions of dong: Subaru Forester reduced by 120-250 million dong for VIN 2023 cars; Honda CR-V also sold old cars with incentives of 100% registration fee and gifts.
Mitsubishi Outlander is discounted in cash with gifts for both the VIN 2023 version in stock and the new products manufactured in 2024. Previously, the Korean SUV Kia Sportage was also adjusted in price, reduced by VND 23 million for the 2.0G Premium version at the end of the month 3.
In addition, consumers can also wait for a few more quite “hot” names in the B-segment SUV segment to be launched in the market in May, including: Toyota Corolla Cross and Haval Jolion.
