On April 24th, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism issued a document to the Departments of Tourism, Culture, Sports, and Tourism regarding the enhancement of safety measures in tourism activities during the upcoming holidays and the peak summer tourism season.

In accordance with the Prime Minister’s instructions to prepare favorable conditions for tourists to ensure a safe, friendly, and appealing experience during the April 30th – May 1st holidays and the 2024 summer tourism peak, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism requested that the departments ensure order and traffic safety to accommodate the increased travel demand of the public.

The 5-day April 30th and May 1st holidays present a prime opportunity for the development of domestic tourism.

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism requires local authorities to instruct the Management Boards of tourism areas and sites, travel agencies, tourist accommodation establishments, and related business units to strengthen self-inspection, supervision, maintain service quality, ensure environmental hygiene, food safety, and manage parking and vehicle storage services for tourists.

“Tourist areas and sites with water sports, entertainment services, and tourist transportation means must strictly implement measures to ensure security and safety. Transportation and tour companies must not use unregistered or uninsured vehicles that do not meet safety standards to serve visitors,” stated the document from the National Tourism Administration.

Business entities must strictly adhere to regulations on registering and publicly listing the prices of goods and services. Prices must be displayed in the reception area, in a conspicuous location where guests can see them before using the service, and there should be no arbitrary price increases, coercion of guests, or negative impacts on the tourism industry.

Acts of overcharging tourists must be prevented.

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism also mentioned the promotion and introduction of tourist destinations, products, and services to serve visitors based on the promotion of cultural identity and historical traditions.

Previously, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism also issued a document on implementing domestic tourism stimulus activities in 2024 with the theme “Vietnamese People Travel in Vietnam – I Love Vietnam” in anticipation of the upcoming holidays.
