Billion-dollar factories producing chips, electronic devices, and phones help the smallest province become Vietnam’s 2nd largest exporter

With a land area of only about 823 km2, Bac Ninh is the smallest province in Vietnam. However, it is one of the localities with the largest industrial production value in Vietnam. To achieve the above achievements, Bac Ninh province has devoted a lot of effort to industrial development. And after many years, Bac Ninh is considered the “Industrial Capital” with many large industrial parks and clusters such as: Yen Phong Industrial Park; Yen Phong Industrial Park II; Dong Tho Multi-Industry Cluster … In which, Yen Phong Industrial Park has a Samsung factory with a total investment of 9.3 billion USD, accounting for 49% of the company’s total investment capital in Vietnam.

Specifically, in 2005, the GRDP scale of Bac Ninh province was about 1,500 billion VND, by 2023, that number has increased to more than 220,000 billion (146 times increase), ranking 4th in the Red River Delta region and 9th in the country.

In particular, the presence of Samsung has attracted many other enterprises to invest, making Bac Ninh province a bright spot attracting FDI and a stronghold of Vietnam’s electronics industry.

This is a factory that manufactures, assembles and tests semiconductor materials and equipment with a total investment of 1.6 billion USD, divided into 3 phases, of which the first phase is 520 million USD and is expected to be completed by 2035. create jobs for about 10,000 workers.

In the first phase, the factory will focus on testing, providing advanced system assembly and testing solutions in System in Package (SiP) for the world’s leading electronics and semiconductor manufacturers.

Built on an area of 23 hectares, Amkor Factory is one of the largest semiconductor manufacturing factories in Vietnam today and is expected to be an important milestone for Bac Ninh to officially appear on the world map of semiconductor manufacturing.

In addition to the above factories and industrial parks, Bac Ninh province also owns many other large factories and industrial parks. On the territory of Tien Du district alone, there are also 3 large industrial parks: Tien Son, Dai Dong – Hoan Son, and part of VSIP Industrial Park with a total industrial land area of about 10 km2, attracting tens of thousands of workers in and outside the province.
