Since the beginning of the year, the Bắc Giang Provincial Taxation Department has synchronously and drastically implemented many measures to recover tax arrears.

According to Mr. Duong Manh Tien, Head of the Tax Debt Enforcement and Management Division (Bắc Giang Provincial Taxation Department), after reviewing tax debt cases, the sector has urged nearly 5,000 enterprises (DNs) to collect debts via phone and sent notices of tax debts and overdue fines to nearly 10,900 cases.

In particular, for DNs with tax debts overdue for more than 90 days, the tax authority has issued 508 decisions to enforce the deduction of money from accounts at credit institutions and commercial banks of DNs and applied the measure of enforcing invoices with no more use value.

Along with the above measures, the provincial Taxation Department and regional tax branches also drew up minutes urging tax debt payment for dozens of DNs; and publicized a list of over 1,500 cases with tax debts on mass media.

From now until the end of the year, the Bắc Giang Provincial Taxation Department will continue to direct specialized divisions and regional tax branches to focus on examining, analyzing, and comparing tax debts of DNs to take appropriate collection measures, striving to reduce collectible tax debts to a level of under 5% of the locality’s total state budget revenue.
