Board Member of VietinBank Appointed as Chief of Staff of the State Bank of Vietnam

Prior to this, VietinBank has had an announcement about exempting Ms. Tran Thu Huyen from the position of Member of the Board of Directors, effective April 23.

On April 26, in Hanoi, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) held the Ceremony to announce and hand over the Decision of the Governor of the SBV to appoint the Head of the Governor’s Office, SBV.

At the Ceremony, Mr. Tran Anh Tuan – Head of the Organization and Personnel Department of the SBV announced the Decision of the Governor of the SBV on accepting and appointing Ms. Tran Thu Huyen to the position of Head of the Governor’s Office of the SBV. Ms. Tran Thu Huyen will hold the position for a term of 05 years, starting from the date of acceptance and appointment;

Previously, VietinBank had announced the dismissal of Ms. Tran Thu Huyen from the position of Member of the Board of Directors as of April 23. The reason for the dismissal was that the SBV had appointed her to a new position.

Ms. Tran Thu Huyen, born in 1977, has a Bachelor of Laws degree from Hanoi Law University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the National University of Hanoi. She started working at VietinBank in 2001 and has been appointed as a Member of the BOD since July 24, 2014. Thus, she has spent nearly 10 years in the BOD of VietinBank.

Before being elected to the BOD of the Bank, she had held the position of Deputy Head of Division, Head of Organization and Personnel Division, and Training of VietinBank.
