The North-South Expressway, Eastern section, passing through Ha Tinh province, consists of 4 component projects: Dien Chau – Bai Vot (phase 2017 – 2020), Bai Vot – Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi – Vung Ang, and Vung Ang – Bung (phase 2021 – 2025), with a total length of over 107 km. During the holidays from April 30th to May 1st, despite the hot and sunny weather and the long holiday, hundreds of cadres, engineers, and workers of the contractors on the construction sites of the component projects worked diligently to accelerate the progress according to the plan.
According to the plan, the component project of the Bai Vot – Ham Nghi expressway is over 35 km long, starting at Thanh Binh Thinh commune (Duc Tho district) and ending at Thach Xuan commune (Thach Ha district), and is expected to be completed by June 30th, 2025 (3 months earlier than the contract). Therefore, the progress of the project is being accelerated by the contractors.
Engineer Nguyen Duc Dinh (Vinaconex, Vietnam Import-Export and Construction) said that his unit is building the Bai Vot – Ham Nghi section of the expressway with a length of 22.17 km. The entire route has 15 bridges, 2 interchanges… the progress has reached about 42%.
“Currently, the unit is strengthening the foundation, distributing crushed stone in several locations, and building overpasses and culverts. Although it is a holiday and the weather is hot and sunny, the unit still ensures workers and machinery to carry out the work, ensuring the progress as planned”, said engineer Dinh.
The overpass across the expressway connecting National Highway 15B in Son Loc commune, Can Loc district (Ha Tinh) is gradually being completed.
“Although it is a holiday, in order to ensure the progress, the workers in the company continue to work on the construction site. The contractor also gives us an additional bonus for working overtime during the holidays. To avoid the heat, we have to work from early morning until late evening to make up for our lunch break”, said worker Le Van Tuan (49 years old, residing in Thanh Chuong district, Nghe An).
Despite the hot weather, the workers are still working diligently.
