At an event hosted by Chery in China, the brand confirmed that the Omoda E5 would be officially launched in Vietnam this year. It is the pure electric version of the Omoda C5 (pure gasoline) which will also be launched in Vietnam soon.

Compared to the gasoline version, the Omoda E5 has undergone some design tweaks. The most noticeable change is the removal of the grille and its replacement with a closed fascia. The headlights are still LED lenses, positioned low, while the daytime running lights are slimmer and placed above. This version also has a redesigned lower air intake featuring vertical slats. The “Omoda” lettering has been slightly enlarged.

The Omoda E5 has a fastback-style roofline that slopes down towards the rear. The dimensions of this model are 4,424 x 1,830 x 1,588 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,630 mm. Compared to the gasoline version, the E5 is slightly longer by 24 mm, while the other dimensions remain unchanged. The weight is 1,785 kg. These figures suggest that the Omoda E5 will directly compete with the VinFast VF 6.

The Omoda E5 is equipped with 18-inch wheels and 215/55 tires. The car uses closed-off rims to minimize wind resistance, optimizing aerodynamics to increase the electric motor’s range.

The interior of the Omoda E5 has changed significantly compared to the gasoline version. First, the dashboard is designed in a two-tiered layout, higher than the Omoda C5. The common feature of the two Omoda models is minimalism, with most physical buttons eliminated.

The Chinese automaker has installed two 12.3-inch screens with a resolution of 1920×720 to serve as the instrument cluster and infotainment display. Notably, the Omoda E5 is equipped with a Qualcomm 8155 processor for the central screen, enabling smooth operation without any lag. In addition, the car also features Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, similar to the gasoline version. In front of the driver is a HUD system that helps the driver easily monitor the car’s parameters.

The center console has a more modern design, completely different from the Omoda C5. The gear lever has also been moved behind the steering wheel, giving this area a cleaner look. Chery has also equipped the E5 with a wireless charging system with a capacity of 50W.

The trunk space of the Omoda E5 is 380 liters and increases to 1,075 liters when the second row is folded down.
