Shopping malls in Hanoi have been welcoming an influx of shoppers during the recent 30 April-1 May holiday, providing respite from the sweltering heat and offering opportunities for entertainment and retail therapy.

Aeon Mall Ha Dong shopping center was bustling with activity as early as 8 am, with visitors eager to make the most of the holiday.

A staff member noted that the high volume of shoppers in the morning was an indication of a busy day, with potential for overcrowding during peak hours.

As midday approached, the crowds grew even larger, filling the aisles of the shopping mall.

Aeon Long Bien shopping center experienced a similar surge in shoppers, with thousands flocking to make purchases during the lunch break.

Shoppers took advantage of discounts on clothing, luggage, bags, and shoes, resulting in heavy foot traffic at these stalls.

The pastry section was particularly crowded, with long queues forming at the three checkout counters despite the high number of staff. “I’ve taken advantage of the holiday to bring my child to this shopping mall in Hanoi for some fun and shopping. Since we live far away, we had to leave early to avoid the heat and traffic. We plan to spend the entire day here because opportunities like this are rare,” said Thu Ha from Yen Phong, Bac Ninh.

Food stalls, especially those offering ready-to-eat options, also attracted a large number of patrons, particularly young people and children.

The dining area was packed, with a steady flow of customers from morning till afternoon.

The grocery section of Aeon Mall Long Bien was also bustling with activity.
