HMD’s Nokia plans to bring back popular phones
HMD has been teasing the launch of a new feature phone since early March, which is expected to be unveiled in May. Now, the device in question has been revealed, and it’s the Nokia 3210.
HMD recently hosted a launch event in Kenya where it introduced the Pulse series and the Nokia 225 4G phone. According to Nokiamob, leaked marketing images of the Nokia 3210 (2024) have surfaced, revealing the phone’s design, colors, and some key features.
HMD is going for a retro marketing approach with the Nokia 3210 (2024). The leaked image shows that the Nokia 3210 (2024) will come in blue, with yellow and other colors expected to be available as well.
The design of the new Nokia 3210 (2024) isn’t an exact replica of the original 3210. It features a rear camera, a larger display, and an optimized keypad layout. So, it’s not a simple copy but rather a modernized take on the classic.
The leaked marketing image also reveals that the Nokia 3210 (2024) will feature long battery life, Bluetooth connectivity, and 4G network support. It is expected to be launched in May.
Earlier, HMD Global teased the return of a “legend” in May on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle. The post featured an 8-bit render of what appeared to be a feature phone, prominently colored in yellow.
The tweet was posted on March 18, which is the anniversary of another iconic Nokia phone, the Nokia 3210. Additionally, the image posted in the tweet also features a birthday balloon. Since March 18 is the birthday of the Nokia 3210, it is a strong hint that we are getting the Nokia 3210 (2024).
The Nokia 3210 was first launched in 1999. It was known for its compact and durable design, long battery life, and impressive features for its time.
It came with a 1.6-inch monochrome display with a resolution of 128 x 128 pixels. Users could make phone calls, send SMS messages, store up to 250 contacts, and it also had an alarm, calendar, calculator, and the iconic Snake game. The Nokia 3210 also supported multiple languages and allowed users to personalize their ringtones.
Another highlight of the Nokia 3210 was its 1100mAh Lithium-Ion battery. It provided a talk time of up to 4 hours and a standby time of up to 200 hours – a luxury that modern smartphones can only dream of.
