On the evening of May 1, the Secretary-General of the National Assembly, Bui Van Cuong, issued a statement announcing the Resolution of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly颁布 on April 26.
Accordingly, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly has also temporarily suspended the performance of duties and powers of the National Assembly deputy for Mr. Duong Van Thai, a deputy of the 15th National Assembly, from the date of the decision to prosecute the accused.
Mr. Duong Van Thai is 54 years old, holds a Doctorate in Economics, and is a native of Lam Cot commune, Tan Yen district, Bac Giang province. He is a member of the 13th Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee, and Head of the Bac Giang Provincial National Assembly Delegation for the 15th tenure.
He has previously held the positions of Director of Bac Giang City Tax Office, Vice Chairman of Bac Giang City People’s Committee, Vice Chairman and then Chairman of Bac Giang Provincial People’s Committee. Since October 2020, he has served as Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee.
