Tien Phong reports that Do Son Beach 2 was swarming with people from afternoon to evening, with the 500-700-meter-long stretch of sand packed shoulder-to-shoulder. Paragliders entertained the crowds by soaring over the beach.

Do Son local Mai shared that the holiday weekend has drawn a significant influx of tourists to the area since April 27th, reaching its peak on April 30th, when the beaches were nearly impossible to navigate. Sun umbrellas and lounge chairs filled every available space on the sand.

“There’s a constant stream of new arrivals, and every empty spot on the beach is quickly occupied by swimmers and sunbathers,” Mai said.

Mai added that the Do Son Art and Music Festival and other events scheduled for the evening of April 30th brought even more people to the area, including locals and visitors from neighboring provinces.

Vi, a Hai Phong resident originally from Nam Dinh, said that while Do Son’s waters may not be as clear as other beaches, its proximity to Hai Phong (approximately 20 kilometers) makes it a convenient destination for swimming, seafood dining, and enjoying the sea breeze.

Traffic congestion was reported on Pham Van Dong Street from Duong Kinh District to Do Son, stretching over 10 kilometers, causing delays for vehicles.

In the late evening, traffic continued to flow towards the beaches, walking streets, and dining areas.

The Do Son District People’s Committee has organized the Do Son Tourism Festival 2024, which will run for a week (April 27th – May 4th) and feature five key programs and activities: Artistic kite flying, Do Son Art Program, Do Son Tourism Golf Tournament, Food Festival, and more.

On the evening of April 30th, the Do Son International Tourist Area hosted the opening ceremony of Do Son Tourism Festival 2024, along with various lively fringe events. An EDM music festival featuring renowned DJs and dance groups will be held on May 1st, offering free entertainment to locals and visitors in a square with a capacity of approximately 300,000 people.
