On May 1, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VH-TT&DL) of Quang Nam Province, stated that revenue from tourism in the entire province was estimated to reach 600 billion VND during the five-day holiday. Hoi An and other coastal tourist destinations were the most popular choices for visitors.
During the 30/4-1/5 holiday this year, Quang Nam Province recorded an increase in the number of international visitors compared to the same period last year. However, due to the extreme heat, with temperatures reaching 40 degrees Celsius in some areas, coupled with high airfares, the number of domestic visitors decreased significantly compared to the same period in 2023.

“Due to the sweltering weather, locals and tourists refrained from going outdoors during the day, so the busiest time for visitors was in the evening,” Mr. Hong said. “Hoi An ancient town
and nearby coastal destinations were the most popular choices for visitors.”
Specifically, the total number of tourists visiting Quang Nam during the holiday was estimated to be over 230,000, a 5% decrease compared to the same period in 2023, of which international visitors were estimated to be over 130,000, a 10% increase compared to the same period, while domestic visitors were estimated to be 100,000, a 19% decrease compared to the same period in 2023.
The number of tourists visiting was estimated to be 150,000 (a 13% decrease), and the number of tourists staying overnight was estimated to be 81,000 (a 16% increase).
The room occupancy rate in the province reached 75-90%, mainly in 3-5 star hotels.
Revenue from tourism in the five-day holiday was estimated to reach 600 billion VND.
Nguyen Van Lanh, Vice Chairman of Hoi An City People’s Committee, said that 21,300 tickets were sold for the ancient town, a 5.5% increase compared to the same period last year, including over 18,400 international visitors and over 2,800 domestic visitors.
Other destinations also welcomed a large number of visitors, such as the Bay Mau Coconut Forest, Thanh Ha Pottery Village, Tra Que Vegetable Village, and Cu Lao Cham.
