Apple is set to launch the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus in a striking new red color this April.
The news comes after (RED), a non-profit organization that fights AIDS, posted an image on its Twitter account of a red iPhone with the caption “Put a RED iPhone before your donut.”
Apple has made it an annual tradition to release a new color option for its mainline iPhones in the spring. This move is seen as a way to generate excitement among consumers in between the launch of new iPhone generations. It’s also a strategic tactic to keep the iPhone competitive against the onslaught of Android flagships that are typically unveiled in the first half of the year.
Last year, Apple introduced a vibrant yellow color option for the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus.
With the iPhone 13, a gorgeous Green shade was introduced to the lineup. Notably, the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max also received an exclusive Alpine Green option. Even earlier, in April 2021, Apple released a captivating Purple color for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini.
This time around, the special edition iPhone 15 color is expected to be unveiled at Apple’s upcoming event.
Dubbed “Let Loose”, the event will be held virtually and is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. PT (5 p.m. GMT) on May 7. At the event, Apple is widely anticipated to unveil new iPad hardware and accessories.
