On May 2, the People’s Committee of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province announced that it had issued documents directing relevant departments, agencies, and the People’s Committee of Vung Tau city to withdraw the policy of studying, surveying, and establishing a project for the Nam Binh Eco-tourism Residential Area (Ward 12, Vung Tau City).
The Nam Binh Eco-tourism Residential Area project, with a total area of approximately 5 hectares, was approved by the Provincial People’s Committee for Bao Nhi Co., Ltd., and the Provincial Traffic Engineering Joint Stock Company to study, survey, and establish an investment construction project in 2010.
Ba Ria – Vung Tau is taking decisive action against slow-moving projects
However, after the planning task was approved, the investor did not carry out investment preparation work, did not contact relevant departments and agencies for guidance on investment procedures, and did not report the reasons for the project’s slow progress.
In comparison to the investor’s project implementation process, the official dispatch of the Provincial People’s Committee has automatically expired; the project does not meet the conditions for transfer under the provisions of the law on investment.
Therefore, the People’s Committee of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province proposed to withdraw and terminate the effectiveness of the Provincial People’s Committee’s documents on the investment and construction of this project. Investors shall bear all costs related to the project’s implementation.
The Ba Ria – Vung Tau province requested that the departments and agencies withdraw or submit to the Provincial People’s Committee for withdrawal of documents related to the implementation procedures of the above project; coordinate with relevant agencies to review the procedures related to the company’s land (if any); and at the same time guide the People’s Committee of Vung Tau city to implement the procedures on land of the land in accordance with regulations.
