City complex project worth over VND 600 billion with massive promotional campaign put on hold

On May 3, at the 12th session, the Dak Lak Provincial People’s Council agreed to stop issuing and amending Article 1 of Resolution No. 09 (dated May 6, 2019) on unifying the content of approving the investment policy of the Tan An Industrial Cluster Urban Service Area Project, Tan Loi Ward, Buon Ma Thuot City.

After the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Council issued a notice to stop issuing the Resolution amending Article 1 of Resolution No. 09, the Dak Lak Provincial People’s Committee continued to comprehensively review other related contents in the process of implementing the project from the beginning up to now; study appropriate handling options in accordance with legal regulations, plans, general orientations of the province, of Buon Ma Thuot City; if all conditions are met, submit to the Provincial People’s Council for consideration and decision.

Tan An Urban Service Area Project is still a vacant lot.

Previously, on February 1, 2019, the Dak Lak Provincial People’s Committee issued Decision No. 277 on selecting VN Da Thanh Group Joint Stock Company (Da Nang) as the investor in the Urban Service Area with a scale of nearly 22ha, originating from Buon Ma Thuot Coffee One Member Co., Ltd. (dissolved). The total cost of implementing the project is over VND 610 billion, including nearly VND 560 billion for infrastructure investment and the remaining costs for site clearance. The implementation period is 4 years.

On May 6, 2019, the Dak Lak Provincial People’s Council issued Resolution No. 09, unanimously approving the investment policy in the above project. Accordingly, the urban project of VN Da Thanh Group Joint Stock Company is divided into 3 phases: phase 1 (12 months), completing legal procedures, site clearance and synchronous construction of technical infrastructure; phase 2 (34 months) investing in housing and public works; phase 3 (2 months) completing the project and transferring technical items to the State for management.

However, according to PV’s observations, up to now the above project is still just a vacant lot. The investor only fenced around. While before, the project was widely promoted.
