Following a survey by our reporter, the price of the Mazda 2 sedan has increased again after the discount program ended in May 2024.

Specifically, the Mazda 2 1.5L AT and Luxury are priced at 430 million VND and 509 million VND, respectively, while the Mazda 2 1.5 Premium costs 534 million VND. Meanwhile, the Mazda 2 Sport ranges from 527 to 572 million VND for the two versions. This is the third price adjustment since the Mazda2 facelift arrived in Vietnam.

Currently, the Mazda 2 is the only model in the B-segment sedan segment to cut incentives, while major rivals such as the Hyundai Accent, Toyota Vios, and Honda City have all been heavily discounted, with some models dropping to the same price as A-segment cars.

The Toyota Vios is currently enjoying several promotional programs. Firstly, there is a price reduction of up to 50 million VND from Toyota Vietnam. The Toyota Vios G is discounted by 47 million VND, from 592 million VND to 545 million VND; the E-CVT version is discounted by 40 million VND, with a new price of 488 million VND; and the lowest E-MT version is priced at 458 million VND (a reduction of 21 million VND). Furthermore, customers who purchase a vehicle will receive an additional discount of 10-15 million VND from the dealership. This discount depends on the number of remaining vehicles in stock, the version, and the time of purchase.

After the discount, the price of the Toyota Vios manual transmission is only around 440 million VND, which is comparable to the high-end version of the Kia Morning. Meanwhile, the 1.5E CVT and 1.5G CVT versions are priced around 470 million VND and 530 million VND, respectively.

However, after receiving the official incentives and discounts from the dealership, customers will not receive any accompanying gifts when purchasing a vehicle, such as floor mats, window tinting, etc.

Similarly, a number of dealerships are offering significant discounts on the Hyundai Accent B-sedan with a 2023 VIN number. The Hyundai Accent special edition is being offered by dealers at a starting price of only 475 million VND, a reduction of 67 million VND compared to the manufacturer’s listed price of 542 million VND. Dealerships are also offering discounts on the Hyundai Accent with a 2024 VIN number, but at a lower rate of around 20-40 million VND, depending on the version. In addition to the price reduction, dealerships are also offering free window tinting, undercoating, leather floor mats, leather wallets, leather steering wheels, etc. to customers who purchase a vehicle.

The Honda City is being offered with a 50% discount on the registration fee, along with a one-year auto insurance policy.

According to the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA) and TC Motor, sales in the B-segment sedan segment reached 3,606 units in March 2024, an increase of over 2,000 units compared to February 2024.

The Mazda2 is gaining popularity among Vietnamese customers as sales grew by 81% in March 2024 compared to the previous month, reaching 453 units, a slight increase of 2.7% compared to the same period in 2023. At the end of the first quarter of 2024, the Mazda2’s cumulative sales reached 1,075 units, a 3.6% increase compared to the first quarter of last year.
