**Sam Son No Longer “Going to Bed Early”**
“Since the highway was completed, this is the third time my family has visited Sam Son. But this is the first time my children have seen the water show and fireworks on the shore,” said Mr. Phung Huy Hieu from Hanoi. Hieu was one of hundreds of thousands of tourists who attended the “Sea Tourism Festival: Sam Son in Bright Colors” on the evening of April 27th.
With a captivating art program featuring many leading artists, the 2024 Sea Tourism Festival created a spectacular scene in Sam Son this year. The coastal city was lit up under the sky of fireworks and the bright lights of the seaside square; Every corner was crowded with tourists coming to admire and explore a more vibrant Sam Son than ever before. After the festival, the crowd continued to flow into the rows of shops and restaurants to enjoy the nightlife.
The image of the 9km-long beach at the foot of Truong Le Mountain with bustling tourists is no longer the only “highlight” of tourism in Sam Son. In addition, music festivals, street carnivals, artistic fireworks, and world-class water music shows at the seaside square will surely be unforgettable memories for tourists visiting Sam Son this summer.
According to a report by the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, over 1.5 million tourists visited Thanh Hoa during the five-day holiday, bringing in a record revenue of more than 3,800 billion VND. Of which, Sam Son City alone welcomed 905,000 visitors. Sam Son in particular, and Thanh Hoa in general, have further solidified their position as the nation’s leader in the number of holiday visitors.
Sam Son welcomes nearly 1 million visitors in the five-day holiday
In fact, not all tourists are as fortunate as Hieu’s family to secure convenient overnight accommodation near the seaside square. According to a survey, during the five-day holiday, many hotels in Sam Son reported a room occupancy rate of approximately 100% and were forced to reluctantly turn away guests.
“Despite the fact that the hotel has prepared for room capacity by partnering with other shophouses at Sun Grand Boulevard surrounding the seaside square area, the demand was too great and many guests made plans at the last minute, so we couldn’t accommodate everyone. It’s such a pity!” said Mr. Trinh Van Trung, manager of the Olive Sam Son Hotel.

In the past, Sam Son tours were mostly 2 days and 1 night. The common itinerary was: swimming in the sea during the day, visiting famous tourist attractions such as Doc Cuoc Temple, Trong Mai Islet, Truong Le Mountain…, but evening activities were mainly eating, walking around, and then returning to the hotel. Tourists going to bed early and leaving early has always been a recurring theme in tourism in Sam Son in particular and Thanh Hoa in general.
That is also the reason why the spending of tourists in Thanh Hoa has only been modest. While studies have shown that tourists spend up to 70% on nighttime tourism services, and only 30% during the day. From the nighttime experiences in the seaside square and the central area, Sam Son hopes to encourage tourists to spend more and stay longer.
World-class water show extends the night experience for tourists
It is known that throughout the summer, from April 27th to September 5th, Sam Son’s seaside square will host a water show every evening from Monday to Thursday to serve tourists and locals. The show uses modern technology from Germany with 300 nozzles, creating performances around various themes with captivating lighting effects and vibrant sound.
Not only that, the entertainment experience in the coastal city will also continue to be extended when the Sun World Sam Son complex – an outdoor entertainment park with a large investment scale and area and one of the largest in the North, built by Sun Group – opens at the end of May.
With its place on the map of Sun World branded parks in Vietnam, Sam Son is moving closer to becoming a tourist destination with rich experiences and attractions throughout all four seasons. Attracting nearly 1 million visitors in just five days of the holiday is also a solid foundation for the coastal city to aim to achieve and exceed an extremely impressive target: 8.5 million visitors in the entire year of 2024.
**Investors “Awakened”**
It is no exaggeration to say that the flourishing of Sam Son tourism during the recent May Day holiday was due to the tourism products of Sun Group. In the near future, when Sun World Sam Son is completed, the seaside square area and the Sam Son festival landscape axis will become a leading tourist “coordinate” in the North, meeting all the requirements from natural scenery, transportation infrastructure, and a chain of service amenities.
Real estate on the Sam Son festival landscape axis and seaside square has always been in high demand
In this context, experienced investors have quickly recognized the opportunities in Sam Son real estate as the infrastructure and tourism scene here is painted in vibrant colors. The projects that are being targeted include, most notably, The Pathway – a high-rise apartment complex developed by Sun Property.
Located in the Sun Grand Boulevard model metropolitan complex, with a location on the festival landscape axis stretching over 2.6km from the sea to Nam Song Ma Boulevard, The Pathway will be a vibrant point that any tourist visiting Sam Son will surely stop by. Conversely, apartment owners will enjoy all the entertainment and leisure amenities, from the beautiful beach, the water music show at the seaside square…, or the Sun World complex at their “fingertips”.
Not only does it bring a new lifestyle; the opportunity to live, vacation, and do profitable business in a prime location for tourism in the North, The Pathway also attracts investor interest by being a rare beachfront apartment project in Sam Son.
The Pathway is the lifeblood of every Sam Son experience
“As a product with high liquidity and versatility, suitable for the trend of modern living, beachfront apartments are highly anticipated by investors, especially in localities with convenient transportation infrastructure connecting to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City,” assessed a representative of a sales unit for The Pathway project.
Along with the impressive growth rate of Sam Son tourism, beachfront apartment products are forecasted to open up promising business and investment potential for investors, stimulating a strong recovery of the real estate market in the second quarter of 2024.
