The Inspection Commission of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee held its 34th meeting, during which it discussed the ethical and legal violations of Mr. Nguyen Van Thao, Director, and Mr. Dam Van Cuong, Deputy Director of the Management Board for Traffic and Agricultural Construction Projects in Bac Giang province. The two officials were found to have engaged in conduct unbecoming of Communist Party members, causing negative public opinion and damaging the reputation of the Party. The Commission voted to propose to the Provincial Party Standing Committee to discipline Mr. Thao and Mr. Cuong by expelling them from the Party.
Prior to this, the Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Public Security had initiated a criminal case for “Violation of regulations on bidding, causing serious consequences; Bribery and Receipt of Bribes” involving Thuân An Corporation and related units and organizations. The Investigation Agency arrested and detained Mr. Thao and Mr. Cuong on charges of “Violation of regulations on bidding, causing serious consequences” and “Receipt of Bribes.” Additionally, Mr. Hoang The Du, Head of the Traffic and Agricultural Construction Project Management Board in Bac Giang province, was also arrested and detained for “Violation of regulations on bidding, causing serious consequences.”
As of now, the Investigation Agency of the Ministry of Public Security has initiated legal proceedings against eight individuals in relation to the case involving Thuân An Corporation. This includes Mr. Duong Van Thai, Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Pham Thai Ha, Deputy Head and Assistant to the Chairman of the National Assembly; three leaders of Thuân An Corporation, including the Chairman of the Board of Directors, the General Director, and the Deputy General Director; and three leaders and officials of the Management Board for Traffic and Agricultural Construction Projects in Bac Giang province.
