On May 6th, Digiworld JSC (listed on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol DGW) announced the appointment of Mr. Shekhar Himanshu as Vice President. Although he has not previously held any positions at DGW, Mr. Himanshu is a familiar figure to the company, having served as the Regional Director of Strategy and Trade for Southeast Asia at Whirlpool Corporation, a strategic partner of DGW.

Mr. Shekhar Himanshu, an Indian national, has been the Regional Director of Strategy and Trade for Southeast Asia at Whirlpool Corporation since January 2022. Prior to that, he held important roles in various organizations, including Executive Assistant to the Chairman of the AA Group from March to November 2021, Regional Director for Indonesia and China at Asashi Group from April 2018 to August 2020, and several key roles at Coca-Cola from February 2010 to March 2018.
Mr. Shekhar Himanshu is married to Mrs. Pham Thi Lien, a Vietnamese national, and they have a child named Shekhar An Chi. Currently, his family members do not hold any DGW shares.
With this appointment, Mr. Shekhar Himanshu joins Ms. To Hong Trang as Vice Presidents of DGW.
Going back to December 23, 2021, DGW officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Whirlpool, marking its entry into the home appliance industry, which has an annual market size of 2.4 billion USD. According to the agreement, DGW is not just a distributor but a strategic exclusive partner, providing full-package MES (Market Expansion Services) to Whirlpool in Vietnam, with the ambition to capture 10% of the total market size within 3-5 years.
Whirlpool Corporation, founded in 1911, was introduced by DGW as the world’s leading manufacturer of kitchen and laundry appliances at the time of their partnership.
Following this partnership, in the second quarter of 2022, DGW started distributing home appliance products from Whirlpool, including refrigerators, washing machines, clothes dryers, and dishwashers.
